Located at 543 Deering Avenue in the heart of Portland, Maine, the Bayou Kitchen is a unique restaurant serving Louisiana-inspired breakfast and lunch daily. The Bayou has been a landmark in Portland for over 25 years. It's current owner and chef is Karl Silander who bought the restaurant back in 2006.  Karl has been a chef and caterer in Maine and New Jersey for over 20 years.  The Bayou Kitchen offers breakfast and lunch with a flare for all things Cajun, great pancakes and omelets overflowing with the freshest ingredients. 

If you like it spicy, be sure to visit the wall of hot sauces! Many of them are local, especially the Captain Mowatt's
Canceaux Sauce and the bottles of Lost Woods on every table.
